Our Lady Cemetery

The Cemetery of Our Lady History

In 1975, 350 rolling and partially wooded acres were purchased along what is now Lake Saint Louis Boulevard and Orf Roads for a new Catholic cemetery. The land was later dedicated on November 14, 1976 by His Eminence John Joseph Cardinal Carberry as Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Cemetery (now known as The Cemetery of Our Lady). This would be the first Catholic cemetery opened by the Archdiocese in over 50 years to serve one of the fastest growing areas in the country.

It is a regional cemetery and centrally located between I-70 and I-64.

The cemetery offers mausoleum crypts, niches for cremated remains, shared family monument lots, monument and lawn level marker lots. The stand-alone granite columbarium unit for the entombment of cremated remains was added in April 2007. It is topped with a lifesize bronze statue of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. In January 2012, additional niches were added in the outdoor mausoleum. Some of these niches are for the entombment of one urn, while others are for the entombment of two urns.
