IS IT I LORD?
In the time of anxiety, be prepared.
You know that you are mortal and that no one knows when God will call us to Himself. It is prudent to prepare for the end of life and a considerate thing to do for your family.
Every Catholic knows that the most important thing we can do for those who have died is to pray for them. The time of loss is not the time to be making the family decisions of the funeral and burial place.
We urge every family to make arrangements now for the place and type of burial, including the funeral. It is a gentile and gracious act you owe your family and one they will appreciate at their time of sorrow.
There are two places in Canon Law that are set aside as sacred:
- Your church for divine worship
- Your final resting place for eternal peace
The Archdiocese of St. Louis has seventeen beautiful cemeteries to serve your every need. Many options are available for selection and payment.
The Archdiocese offers a program of counseling to help families with important facts on all phases of burial arrangements.
Please give some thought to our suggestion. Your decision will help make a trying time a great deal easier.
