The staff of Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of St. Louis would like to welcome you. We hope your visit to the site will be enjoyable, informational, and educational. Through the efforts of many we have collaborated to provide information about the 17 cemeteries that are operated by the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Within this site you will find maps, directions and historical information about many of these cemeteries. Photos and interesting facts about the cemeteries have been added as well as about many of the famous people interred there.

Based on input from the Missouri Department of Conservation every ash tree in the cemetery needed to be removed due to Emerald Borer infestation.  Work began on Monday, August 2, 2015 and was completed ahead of schedule.

What is meant by Memorial Privileges?

Memorial Privileges refers to what type of monument/marker is allowed at a burial site. Monument grave sites are only allowed in pre-designated areas of the cemetery. All other graves are lawn level marker graves.

How do I use the new Soundex search feature on burial searches?

Actually, all you have to do is select it from the type drop down box and enter the name you are looking for. Complex computer algorithms are then invoked to apply special rules to matching you name against the ones we have in our database. By dropping vowels and changing certain consonants, we have the ability to show you similar names.

How many people are employed by St. Louis Catholic Cememteries?

There are currently 15 staff and 32 grounds employees.  An additional 20-30 employees are hired during the growing season.
